The White Stuff Foundation aims to ‘make the world a little happier’ by supporting disadvantaged children and young people. We’ve built long-term relationships with small, local charities and support them by giving funds, time and material support. The Foundation has been nominated for two Third Sector Excellence Awards this year.
At White Stuff we believe in being different, making a difference and making the world a little happier. We want to be good neighbours to our people and the planet, and we want to give something back. In 2010, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary. To mark this, we made 25 pledges to show our commitment to what we believe in. These focus around Giving, Reducing, Reusing and Recycling. The first of these pledges was to set up a charitable foundation, to which White Stuff has committed to giving at least 1% of its annual profits. White Stuff has always given lots of time and money to charity but the Foundation was set up to enshrine the company’s long term commitment to giving and to ensure its support was more focused and structured.
Tackling disadvantage in children and young people, whether economic, educational, health or otherwise, was something that we as a company felt strongly about. The Foundation’s mission is to support disadvantaged children and young people in our local communities. The Foundation has established long-term relationships with small, local charities in areas where White Stuff’s head office, distribution centre, shops and suppliers are based. It gives regular grants and non-financial support to these charities, in addition to funds raised by White Stuff’s staff and customers.
