We’re excited to announce that our Edinburgh Emporium will be taking part in a very special exhibition this August. They have teamed up with Scottish charity, Craft Scotland, and will host the organisation’s first ever summer show.
The show will launch Friday 2nd August to coincide with the Edinburgh summer festivals.
Craft Scotland is a Scottish charity working to unite, inspire and champion Scottish craft. Throughout August they will take over our second floor with features from designers who specialise in everything from furniture to jewellery.
More than 70 people applied to take part in the exhibition but organisers had to whittle the exhibitors down to just 36.The exhibition will give Scotland’s crafters a chance to shine and will showcase the best craft talent Scotland has to offer.
Fiona Logue, Business Manager at Craft Scotland said:
“We are so excited to be launching this new event and bringing such an array of talent together under one roof. We hope that The Summer Show will be an inspiring and vibrant place to visit and revisit during a very busy month in Edinburgh. The standard of craft makers applying to take part in the show was really high and the makers selected illustrate the breadth of talent we have in Scotland.”
Some of the works that will be on display are below:

You may remember that our Edinburgh shop was host to the Edinburgh Art Festival last year and was a venue to an Edinburgh Fringe Festival play the year before. Our second floor space is really roomy and right in the heart of Edinburgh; a great location for festival season.
We’re really looking forward to working with Craft Scotland and can’t wait to see the work on display! You can find a full list of exhibitors over on the Craft Scotland website.
We’ll be giving you regular updates (look out for a competition or two) via our social media channels and you can stay up to date with the Craft Scotland Summer Show on twitter via @craftscotland or #cssummershow.
