The Creative team at Casa del White Stuff first noticed Kay’s book Minding my Peas and Cucumbers when seeking gardening inspiration. Our ‘Sow Happy’ theme celebrates the British allotment and getting outside so we loved Kay’s book and approached her about working with us. Kay very kindly provided us with a quiz and competition on the ‘Explore’ section on our website. Customers can win a signed copy of one of her books.
Kay Sexton’s fiction appears in more than eighty anthologies. Her unpublished novel, Gatekeeper, was shortlisted for the Dundee International Book Prize and she has been shortlisted, finalist or winner of many literary competitions. She has had two books on allotment gardening published: Minding My Peas and Cucumbers and The Allotment Diaries.
In addition to putting words together as Kay Sexton, she also writes fiction under several pen names, grows her own food, teaches horticultural skills on her allotment and is in charge of a Cairn Terrier called Rebus, (although sometimes he’s in charge of her).
