Cookies

Take a moment, and let us guide you through the 'science bit'. Reading this section is more effective than counting sheep.

What are cookies?

We already know about the ones containing chocolate pieces but another kind of 'cookie' is a small text file that is stored on your computer by your web browser. These kinds of cookies are not computer programs, and they can't read other information saved on your hard drive. They cannot be used to spread viruses, or get a user's email address. All websites use cookies in different ways and for most they are essential in providing a better user experience when navigating around a website. They are completely anonymous and in most cases our cookies expire and delete themselves after a set period of time.

What sort of cookies do White Stuff use, and why?

Strictly necessary and performance related cookies
You may have noticed that when you've been away from our site and come back for another visit, anything you may have placed in your shopping bag is still there, or if you have logged in before we remember your name, this is because when you left our site earlier a cookie was stored on your computer which remembers this information.

In order to remember what you've done as you jump from page to page, we use a 'first party' cookie which deletes itself after you leave the site; for example if you add a lovely product to your shopping bag and clicked on the checkout to pay, without this cookie we wouldn't be able to remember what you'd added on the previous page meaning you wouldn't be able to buy anything!

By shopping with White Stuff you are agreeing to the use of these cookies. If you do not agree to the use of cookies then unfortunately you will not be able to shop with us online (as our website, like most others, will not work without them!).

Functionality cookies
Whilst you are on our website, we use various tools to interact with you - for example writing product reviews, asking questions about our products or sharing your favourites on social media networks.

Social Media Sharing
Our website may contain links to third party social media sites such Facebook or Twitter. Cookies may be placed on your internet browser by these third parties - we have no control over this or the technologies used by the third party sites, and accept no liability or responsibility for them. You can find out how these third parties collect and use your information by reading their privacy and cookie policies which you will find on their website.

Targeting/marketing cookies
White Stuff has relationships with carefully selected and trusted marketing suppliers. Sometimes you might see White Stuff advertised on other websites, for example, showing the very same clothes you were browsing the other day. This is because a temporary cookie has been used to make the ad more personal to you. It is important to understand that these cookies are completely anonymous - they are only stored on your computer. No information is ever shared with other websites and you have the ability to opt out of targeted marketing.

To opt out of receiving White Stuff targeted advertising in future or to find out more, click the following link: http://info.criteo.com/privacy/informations?infonorm=3&partner=3628&static=1&noredirect=1
