Sommer-Events – Guide

Summer's here! Why not make 2016 your year of getting out there and seizing the
day? Arm yourself with these fruity ideas and get planning, for an
action-packed Summer you'll remember forever.

23rd - 25th July, 2016

There's no better place to learn about street art than Bristol, home to Banksy - and a bazillion other talented graffiti artists. Another 250 artists from around the world visit the city for this explosion of graffiti and street art, with over 30,000 square feet of artwork painted over the weekend. One for all the family (even surly teenagers).

28th May - 5th June, 2016

Edinburgh, home to all things artsy, including this brilliant festival for young folk. With shows from Scotland and around the world, it's a zesty selection of exciting and stimulating shows to suit children and adults of every age. The festival is known as one of the best places to see children's theatre and dance…and who knows, you might spark a life-long passion in your little one.

12th - 17th July, 2016

Nothing says summer like an outdoors picnic concert. Kew Gardens in West London puts on a particularly good show. Bring your own food, or sample the delights of the artisan food and drink stalls. Then lie back and listen to the likes of Jools Holland, Simply Red and Will Young. Bliss.

Summer, 2016

Described by the organisers as 'a family-friendly slip n' slide water party event', this is definitely one to catch if it comes to a town near you. There'll be music and food (you can take your own, but don't take alcohol). And the bit that's really got us? The cushioned water slide through the centre of town could be anything from 100-300 meters. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (can't wait)!

August, 2016

Bobbing around London's waterways this Summer you'll find this wonderful, architecturally-designed cinema barge. Sound a bit crazy? It is! And we're loving the sound of it. Check their website for dates and programmes.

29th & 30th July, 2016

Farm Fest is a music festival set in beautiful Somerset. So far, so Glasto. But hang on a sec! These guys are all about a niche experience that's affordable and welcoming. The main stage is a converted lorry trailer bought for 50p on Ebay, and they donate truck-loads to good causes. Sounds like a bit of us. See you there?
