On Your Marks

New Year's Eve

Not everyone over indulges during the festive
period. If you're feeling bright-eyed and bushy-
tailed come January 1st, start as you mean to
go on and give Start Fitness' 2017 Serpentine
New Year's Day 10k a go. It's held on totally
traffic-free routes through Hyde Park
and Kensington Gardens – better yet
there's a 3k track if you're not
feeling quite so invincible.

Blow Away The Cobwebs..

All year round

With a Guided Winter Walk courtesy of the National Trust. Ancient woods and imposing landscapes – like Camarthenshire, or County Down's Old Castle Ward used as 'Winterfell' in fantasy drama Game of Thrones – are waiting to be explored. As long as you're wrapped up well and wearing decent outdoor footwear, you're spoiled for choice. Check out the website and
find the best stunning scenery to
traverse near you.

Burns' Night in
Bonnie Scotland

January 25th

On January 25th, we celebrate the birthday of Scotland's most revered national poet, Mr. Robert Burns. Fancy tucking into a plate of haggis, neeps and tatties or taking part in a spot of Cèilidh dancing? There's a packed calendar of events at which you can join in the revelry and pay tribute to the bard's
lasting legacy. However you celebrate, a dram
of whiskey is strongly advised – dry
Jan is nearly over!
