These days, everything in cookery seems to
be about speed; fast food, food on-the-go, food
standing up by a van. What about those rare
occasions when you have some time to play with?
Treat friends and family to something a bit
more labour-intensive; they'll thank you for it.
Our very own Jamie (Jamie Cotton, Web Developer)
shares his favourite delicious meals which take
a bit longer. What he doesn't know about slow
cooking isn't worth knowing.
1 (2 pound) pork tenderloin
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle root beer
(or cola, if you prefer the taste)
1 (18 ounce) bottle your favourite barbecue sauce
8 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
Put your pork tenderloin in a slow cooker (or
casserole dish) and pour the root beer over the
meat. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours.
Drain well and stir in barbecue sauce. Serve it
over hamburger buns with any sauces you fancy
(bit of ketchup's always nice).
