At White Stuff we love natural fibres as they give a luxurious feel to our knits. Some maintenance is needed to help keep the appearance and softness, but caring for your knits needn't be difficult; follow these tips and you'll be fine...
The friction of wear causes tiny bobbles of fluff to form on knitted garments; this 'pilling' is quite normal and does not necessarily indicate poor quality. Regular washing will help to prevent bobbly garments.
We recommend de-pilling knitwear before washing using a pilling comb or electric de-fuzzer. Glide it, gently but firmly, over the affected area to remove the pill bobbles. Once they are all removed, wash it as instructed.
After a few washes you should find the bobbles disappear if you continue to carefully wash your knitwear regularly.
Shedding may occur the first few times you wear a garment. This is due to the fine hairs in luxury yarns such as angora, alpaca and cashmere. To prevent excess shedding, use a lint brush or roller to frequently remove excess hair from your garment.
And there you have it! If you have any more questions about caring for your White Stuff knits, get in touch with email@example.com
We know it's a pain, so we try not to use 'dry cleaning only' care instructions in our garments unless it's absolutely necessary, but occasionally some garments just can't be cleaned any other way. This may be due to the size of the garment or the type of knit structure.
Always store clean garments in cool, dry places. Moths aren't so much attracted to the fibre, but to the food, dirt, perspiration or body oils (mmm) on a garment.
