Tell A Tale Writing Competition

These are the terms and conditions that govern the relationship between you, the entrant and White Stuff of Canterbury Court, Kennington Park, 1-3 Brixton Road, London, SW9 6DE.

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is only open to residents in the UK. You have to be under 18 years old to enter the Children’s category. You have to be over 18 years old to enter the Adult category.

The following people are not eligible to enter the competition:

  • Employees of White Stuff, its respective subsidiaries and associated companies including the prize supplier if applicable
  • Immediate family members of White Stuff employees or members of their household

White Stuff assumes that by entering the competition you have the legal capacity to do so and agree to these terms and conditions.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter the competition you must submit your short story for judging by emailing it to tellatale@whitestuff.com by 21st December 2014, or by posting your entry to ‘Tell a Tale Competition’ at the address set out above.

Only one entry is allowed per person. Entries must not exceed 500 words.

There is no entry fee and no purchase is required.

PROMOTION PERIOD

The Promotion opens at 00:01am on 6th November 2014 and closes at midnight on 21st December 2014.

Only Entries received by White Stuff after the opening date and before the closing date will be accepted.

THE PRIZE

Over 18s Category:

There is one (1) prize consisting of a three (3) night stay for a family of four (4) people at the White Pod eco-camp in Switzerland, including flights from any UK airport.

The prize is subject to availability.

The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and non-refundable. If, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to provide the stated prize, we reserve the right to award a substitute prize of equal or greater value. There is no cash alternative.

The holiday must be taken by 21/12/2015.

Any costs incurred over and above the basic holiday price are at the personal cost of the winner.

The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize, of equal or greater value, at the promoter’s discretion.

Under 18s Category:

There is one (1) prize consisting of a one (1) night stay in London for a family of four (4) people at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, Mercer Street, including four (4) tickets to see Matilda the Musical.

The prize is subject to availability.

The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and non-refundable. If, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to provide the stated prize, we reserve the right to award a substitute prize of equal or greater value. There is no cash alternative.

The prize must be redeemed between 13th January – 28th March 2015 (excludes 16th – 22nd February 2015). The winner must be accompanied by at least one (1) adult, over 18 years old.

Any costs incurred over and above the basic holiday price are at the personal cost of the winner.

The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize, of equal or greater value, at the promoter’s discretion.

SELECTION OF WINNER

One (1) winner per category will be chosen by a representative from Penguin Books no later than 19th January 2015. If the winners cannot be contacted after two (2) attempts within three (3) business days of this date, we reserve the right to select an alternate winner.

White Stuff reserves the right to select an alternative winner in the event that we have reasonable grounds for believing that a winner has contravened any of these Terms and Conditions.

The name and home county of the winners will be available for one (1) month after the judging takes place by sending a stamped self addressed envelope to ‘The Marketing Team’ at the address set out above.

Personal information collected from entrants will be used by us solely in connection with the competition, and will not be disclosed to any third party except for the purpose of operating the competition and fulfilling prizes where applicable or if the third party opt-in box is checked.

By entering the competition you agree to the use of your name and address in publicity relating to the competition and you are giving White Stuff permission to contact you at a future date.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Only entries received by White Stuff after the opening date and before the closing date will be included in the prize draw.

PRIZE

There is one (1) competition prize, which will be one of the products featured in the 'Chooseday' Facebook post.

The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable. If, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to provide the stated prize, we reserve the right to award a substitute prize of equal or greater value.

SELECTION OF WINNER

The winner will be selected from all entries no later than midday on Wednesday.

The winning entry will be picked at random.

If the winner cannot be contacted after two (2) attempts within three (3) business days of the decision date, we reserve the right to select an alternate winner.

There is one (1) prize for each week the competition is running, making a total of seven (7) prizes.

Each week one (1) winner will receive £50 of White Stuff vouchers, redeemable in any White Stuff shop.

There is no cash alternative.

Vouchers are not redeemable online or in White Stuff concessions.

The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.
