Belfast and VOYPIC

White Stuff, Belfast adopted VOYPIC as their charity partner in 2012 and since then the staff have committed their time and energy to imaginative and fun events to raise money for its work.

VOYPIC works regionally and acts locally. An independent charity, founded in 1993, VOYPIC supports the rights of children and young people in care, championing positive change in legislation, policy and practice through children and young people talking about their experiences.

'This partnership gives us a great platform to make Belfast aware of the work that VOYPIC does and ultimately our local White Stuff shop do what they can to support the needs of VOYPIC through fundraising.'

Just as in 1993, children ask VOYPIC to provide a place to meet, socialise and have fun with other children and young people in care, space to understand and come to terms with why they are in care, and ways to share their wisdom, experience and vision to build an exemplary care system.

It's no surprise then that our Belfast shop has taken its job of fundraising very seriously.

'We've done everything we can to support VOYPIC,' explains Karen Hemsworth, from our Belfast shop team. 'From cake sales and raffles to Colour Runs and abseiling down a high rise building, all the money we've raised has been matched by White Stuff. It's great to see what our efforts do.'

And 2018 is set to be another great year for the Belfast shop team and VOYPIC. After launching the first ever Care Day campaign in 2016, it's now an annual event so they're busy planning for 2018.

The campaign is all about celebrating children and young people in care and promoting positive messages and images about their achievements and chances are, this year it'll be even bigger and better than before.

'White Stuff's support adds real value to our work allowing us to run appealing activities, events and campaigns for vulnerable children and young people,' adds Karen from VOYPIC. 'All that's left to say is thank you! Thank you from children, from young people and from the staff of VOYPIC – your support means so very much to all of us.'
