We are always looking for new ways to do original things, which is why our latest White Stuff Nurtures Talent collaboration celebrates an up and coming creative star.
Our amazing design team are always on the lookout for emerging talent, that will offer something fresh and new. It was at a textile fair in Paris that they fell instantly in love with pattern designer, Roberta Fox, who was showing there for the first time.
With Roberta’s strong and confident geometric prints and her modern sense of colour they knew immediately that she would be the perfect fit for White Stuff. We love being able to showcase new talent and to bring you, our lovely customers unique collections that won’t be available anywhere else and our Meeting Roberta collection is the perfect example of that.
Here, Edinburgh College of Art graduate, Roberta tells us in her own words about the inspiration behind her eye-catching print designs and how it feels to see her creations turned into a fashion collection for the first time
What inspired your print designs for the Meeting Roberta collection?
A recent trip to Morocco inspired my print designs. I was particularly drawn to the rich, vibrant colours that were everywhere! From doorways and wall murals to market foods and spices, there was an infinite amount of colour inspiration. Outside the city walls of Marrakech, Ville Nouvelle, the new city, was a source of great shapes, and inspired the graphic element of my designs.
What is your favourite piece from the collection?
One of my favourite pieces of the collection would be the Reflection top. I love the bright colours, they turned our exceptionally vibrant! I think it’s a really flattering fit and would be really great for a smart or casual occasion.
What do you think of the collection?
The collection is really fun, vibrant and bold and it will definitely add a unique edge to the high street. I’m glad to be a part of it.
How do you feel about collaborating with White Stuff on this collection?
White Stuff is known for its individual, stand-out prints and vibrant colours and I was really excited for my work to be associated with this. It’s ultimately a fabulous opportunity to see my print designs on garments and sold worldwide!
