You need a Christmas house party outfit like slinky velvet trousers. Plus, a roll-neck knit as your party top. Smart but understated. And block heels, well, mean you’re ready when ABBA comes on.
The fancy dinner
What to wear when going out for a meal? It’s easier than what to order. (Slightly.) We recommend a black dress with a little metallic print that catches the light. And a side order of a crushed velvet bag (for a pop of plum) and heels worn with sparkly socks. Just in case dancing is on the menu.

There’s a lot going on pre-Christmas. You’re at the Christmas market, then it’s Lisa’s kids’ school play and then you’ve got theatre tickets. Fortunately this outfit will keep up. Close that search for ‘evening tops for women’ and bring out this sequin-y blouse and over flippy wide leg trousers. The beaded bag says glam. The after-work special
For a casual work Christmas party outfit, go for this dress. It’s comfy for a day at your desk, has a swishy midi shape, and is guaranteed to turn heads as you make your way to the printer (totally necessary and not at all for the attention). When the office party gets going, play up the prints with some tortoiseshell earrings and pair with shiny boots. You know. Just in case anyone wasn’t already admiring you.
