OUR CHARITY WORK

We try to stand up for what we believe in (things like creativity, independence and self-expression) and to support others to stand up too. And we try to give something back (like 1% of all our profits, every year).

In 2010 we set up the White Stuff Foundation to facilitate our charitable giving, and since then we have donated over £4 million to a range of charitable causes. In our first ten years the Foundation supported small local charities across the UK and abroad.

In 2020 we partnered with Home-Start UK, a community network that supports families with young children. The Foundation has donated over £400,000 to Home-Start, including £150,000 for their White Stuff Empowering Women Fund.

Now, for 2024 and beyond, we’re really excited to have started a new partnership with Create, a charity that uses the creative arts to connect, inspire and upskill society’s most vulnerable people.

INTRODUCING CREATE

Create runs projects with professional artists. It could be dance, drama, music, photography, film, painting and a myriad of other artforms.

The projects allow people who are typically excluded through disability, disadvantage, ill-health, imprisonment, poverty or social isolation to take part in creative arts. They give the adults and children Create work with opportunities to build relationships and nurture skills. To express themselves and develop their confidence. Create believes everyone should have access to the power of creativity, no matter their circumstances. And we agree.

We’ve chosen to partner with Create as community and creativity are key values for us. And because loneliness and social isolation are significant and growing problems that affect all ages and demographics. The feeling of not having community can be a barrier that stops people thriving. And Create helps to address this.

WE’LL BE SUPPORTING HOWEVER WE CAN

One of the ways we’re supporting Create is through our new charity tote bags. 100% of the profits from the bag will go to Create.

We asked one our favourite artists, Tony Green, to do the illustrations. The result? The cutest bag with an artsy dog wearing a beret (because that’s what art-loving dogs wear, right?).

AND WE’RE ALWAYS STRIVING TO DO MORE

It’s through our charity products that you buy, carrier bag donations, staff fundraising and giving 1% of our profits away each year that we’re able to help. Each member of White Stuff also has two community days a year to do things like volunteer at the Vauxhall City Farm, right on our HQ doorstep.

We donate extra samples and fabrics to Newlife, the charity for disabled children. Between 2022 and 2023 we donated over 1,500 bags of clothes that were then sold by the charity’s shops, helping them to support thousands of disabled and terminally ill children and their families.

Our donations helped fund over 10,000 helpline calls, hundreds of emergency equipment loans, over a thousand grants for specialist equipment and 1,380 play therapy pods.

We're proud of what we are able to give so far and we’re excited to do more. So keep an eye out for new fundraising initiatives from us.
