OUR CHARITY WORK

We try to stand up for what we believe in (things like creativity, independence and self-expression) and to support others to stand up too. And we try to give something back (like 1% of all our profits, every year).

Between 2010 and 2022 we donated over £4 million to local charities across the UK. And we’re really proud to have supported Home-Start UK as our charity partner (so much so that we extended our three-year partnership to four years). Home-Start are a community network of over 13,500 trained volunteers who provide home visits and expert support to families with young children.

And we’ve donated over £400,000.

This has helped Home-Start to deliver various projects. £150,000 fuelled the White Stuff Empowering Women fund, which provided grants to help the mums they support to grow, thrive and feel equipped to determine their own future. It funded local Home-Start initiatives like a women’s refugee support group in West Sussex, specialist single mother support in Hertfordshire and a STEPS (Steps to Excellence in Personal Success) programme for marginalised women in Glasgow.

We also gave £50,000 to both the Covid Emergency Appeal fund and Warm Spaces, Friendly Faces – allowing Home-Start to provide warm, safe environments for families during the cost of living crisis. Additionally, we funded the first year costs of new perinatal mental health support nurse and helped Home-Start provide direct hardship grants to families.

We’re now saying goodbye to Home-Start UK as our charity partner. We’re currently raising money for the White Stuff Foundation (our HQ just did a sponsored Tough Mudder) and have selected an amazing new charity partner we will be announcing soon. Which is very exciting.

WE HAVE ALSO HELPED IN SMALLER WAYS

We have supplied computers to Home-Start families to assist with home schooling during lockdown. And for the last two years we have given many thousands of Christmas gifts to families the charity supports.

We donate extra samples and fabrics to Newlife, the charity for disabled children. Between 2022 and 2023 we donated over 1,500 bags of clothes that were then sold by the charity’s shops, helping them to support thousands of disabled and terminally ill children and their families.

Our donations helped fund over 10,000 helpline calls, hundreds of emergency equipment loans, over a thousand grants for specialist equipment and 1,380 play therapy pods. And they supported kids like ten-year old Una. Diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy, Una needed a bed that was safe and could be easily moved around.

AND WE’RE STRIVING TO DO MORE

It’s through our charity products that you buy, carrier bag donations, staff fundraising and giving 1% of our profits away each year that we’ve been able to help. Each member of White Stuff also has two community days a year to do things like volunteer at the Vauxhall City Farm, right on our HQ doorstep.

We're proud of what we are able to give so far and we’re excited to do more. Watch this space for details on our new charity partner, which we’ll be announcing soon.
